The Yankees had a golden opportunity–or opportunities–to take Game 1 in the late innings, including forcing Boston to call upon starter Rick Porcello to be a bridge to closer Craig Kimbrel, but they didn’t get it done. Marc Carig, the New York Yankees beat writer for The Athletic had a great lede to start his analysis:
