Baseball Has the Runs

30 May

I don’t recall another season with so many lopsided, high-scoring games as this one. Box scores are eye-popping with multi-homer games no longer an anomaly, but rather the norm.

Have to wonder if the MLB honchos have decided that juicing the game with a livelier ball and exit velo measurements will add fan interest.

Obviously, it’s not working in terms of bringing people to the ballpark–even the crowd at the Royals-Yankees game was not a sellout, despite the fact that many attendees were from neighboring states who wanted their kids to see the Yankees.

What do you think about this? Will the game turn back to the fundamentals again?
